BUTTER MARKETING CONDITIONS

NO ALTERATION IN WHOLESALE PRICES (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 15. In the course of a statement on the new butter marketing conditions the Minister of Finance (the Hon. Walter Nash) today stated that there are no alterations in the existing prices charged wholesale for butter and they remain at 141 d for first grade, 13jd for second and 13£d for whey butter. The regulations aimed at equalizing the returns to farmers for their butter, whether for internal or external use. All butter sold on the local market would require to be graded according to the export standard so that the New Zealand public would be assured that what they were buying was true to description and, further, that it reached them by the cheapest and most efficient method.
