BOUT FOR JUNE NEXT YEAR (Received September 4, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 3. Max Schmeling has signed a contract for a championship fight with . Joe Louis in June 1938. The promoter, Mr Jacobs, announced that Schmeling would receive 20 per cent, of the gate money. He had also signed a contract to fight under Mr Jacobs’s promotion for 18 months after the title match. Louis would receive 37J per cent. It is specified that the winner should defend the title in September 1938 against the winner of the elimination tournament to be held in June next year.
