CAULFIELD MEETING DEVONBROOK WINS (Received July 18, 6.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 18. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club held a meeting at Caulfield yesterday, the main results being:— LEAMINGTON HURDLES, £5OO. Two miles, one furlong and 65 yards. J. Morrison’s ch g DEVONBROOK, by Devonshire—Siris, 4yrs, 9.10 (F. Johnson) 1 T. Ryder and J. Malone’s br g DRESS SUIT, aged, 9.8 (A. Fullarton) 2 J. Lewis’s ch g GREAT BEAR, aged, 9.0 (A. Jennings) 3 Ten started. Won by half a head, two lengths between second and third. Time 4.0. GODFREY WATSON STEEPLECHASE, £5OO. About two miles and three furlongs. Mrs C. L. Falkiner’s ch g JEHU, by David—Even Time mare, 6yrs, 10.2 (F. Godfrey) 1 L. Duff’s br g TEZPUR, aged, 10.13 (F. Maher) 2 J. P. Devine’s b g SANTA CASA, 6yrs, 11.12 (R. Armsdon) 3 Seven started. Won by a length and three-quarters, third three lengtlis away. Time 4.374. Palatinate was third in the Malvina Welter Handicap • (one mile), Dermid being first and Erus second. Silver Bond was unplaced in the Lillimur Two-year-old Handicap (seven furlongs). Desert Chief was unplaced in the Murrumbeena Handicap (one mile and a-half). CANTERBURY PARK MEETING DEPUTY RULER UNPLACED (Received July 18, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 18. At the Canterbury Park races, Deputy Ruler was unplaced in the Canterbury Handicap (one mile and a furlong) which was won by Dulcedo.
