Mrs H. Anderson, Brookdale, is visiting Mrs H. McDonald, Park street, Winton.

Miss Isla Cartwright, Waianiwa, is the guest of Mrs A. D. Campbell. Mrs J. Lambie is spending a holiday in Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs I. C. Millar, Christchurch, and Miss Millar, Timaru, are guests at the Celtic Hotel. Miss Marjorie Mcllwrick, Invercargill, is spending the school holidays at her home at Tahawai. Mrs A. Lambie, Brydone, is the guest of Mrs J. C. Hardy. Mrs L. Dutton is visiting her mother Mrs W. Brown, Lora Gorge. At the hall committee’s fortnightly cribbage tournament held last week the prize-winners were Miss N. Griffiths, Miss E. Butcher, Mr J. C. Hardy and Mr Waldron.

The Browns Athletic Society held a successful ball last week. Halbert’s orchestra supplied the music and Messrs E. J. Smith and D. Hardy were masters of ceremonies.
