THE LISTENERS’ LEAGUE

To The Editor Sir, —I see by your paper today that Mr R. T. Parson’s has sold Station 4ZP to the Government. As it will now be a Government-owned station I fail to see how a local listeners’ league can serve any good purpose by dictating to the Broadcasting Board. Also I think it unfair that we listeners should be asked to contribute a further 2/- a year for service for which we are already paying 25/- a year. Surely there should be no need for us in Southland to have to pay 2/a year more than the rest of New Zealand for the same broadcasting service. —Yours, etc., RADIO. July 16, 1937.
