GUARANTEED PRICE
ID RISE FOR DAIRY SUPPLIERS ESTIMATED (United Press Association) WHANGAREI, July 16. While some quarters estimate an increase of the guaranteed price this season of about 3d a pound, Mr F. Elliott, chairman of directors of the Hikurangi Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., at the annual meeting yesterday considered that the Government would give favourable consideration to increasing the price and that dairy suppliers would get something like a penny extra. He did not expect a decision until the Minister of Marketing (the Hon. Walter Nash) returned. He also anticipated that the Government at an early date would take control of the marketing of butter within New Zealand. Mr Elliott made it clear that his estimate was purely an individual assumption, but was based on good data.
