UNSOUND STALLIONS
CLYDESDALE BREEDERS CONCERNED (United Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 17. The Clydesdale breeders at their annual meeting decided to endeavour to persuade the Government to enact legislation to prevent unsound stallions travelling the country. It was stated that on every road in New Zealand there was ample evidence of unsound horses, the result of the indiscriminate use of unsound stallions and much of the drift from horse to motor traction could be laid at the feet of purchasers buying unwittingly the progeny of these unsound sires and experiencing early breakdowns.
Mr R. Kennedy, of Drummond, was elected president and Messrs J. W. Harding (Waipukurau), W. C. Wallace (Cambridge), A. Brown (Kakanui) and A. Grant (Fairlie) vcie-presidents.
