AVIATOR INJURED AT MASCOT

PLANE CAPSIZES AFTER LOSING WHEEL (Received March 4, 9.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 4. An aeroplane accident occurred _at the Mascot aerodrome today in which Squadron-Leader D. Stodart was injured internally. Accompanied by a Japanese pupil, Squadron-Leader Stodart took off and began to ascend when one wheel fell to the ground. The pilot, unaware of the mishap, encircled the aerodrome for a few minutes and then attempted to land. The machine capsized. The Japanese was unhurt and released. Squadron-Leader Stodart was sent to hospital. The machine was not severely damaged. Squadron-Leader Stodart was a competitor in the Melbourne centenary air race.
