PACIFIC AIRWAY
COMMERCIAL SERVICE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.40 p in.) New York, October 15. The Honolulu correspondent of The New York Times says Mr Trippe, president of Pan-American Airways, arrived to-day by the Philippine clipper, formally opening an era of commercial aviation in the Pacific. Mr Trippe announced that six clippers of 40 tons each, designed for the trans-Pacific service, were under construction at the Boeing plant, Seattle. The first of them would be ready for operation within 14 months.
