THE KING “RUSHED” BY LONDONERS
DEPARTURE FOR BALMORAL. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, September 18. A thousand Londoners swept the barriers away when King Edward left for Balmoral to continue his holiday. Cheering women rushed the car in which his Majesty entered the station yard. The crowd was held back only by prodigious efforts by the police. The King stepped from the car and smiled and waved his hand. His Scottish terrier had been placed in the luggage van, but his Majesty ordered that it should be brought to the saloon. TURKISH MEMORIAL OF VISIT INSCRIBED MARBLE TABLETS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) Instanbul, Sept. 19. King Edward’s visit is being commemorated by inscribed marble tablets at Seddil Bahr, where he landed before his inspection of the battlefields and cemeteries, and also at the quay at Instanbul, where he met the President of Turkey (Kemal Ataturk). A bronze plague is being erected at the Yacht Club, Moda Bay, where the King watched a regatta.
