Kennington TENNIS CLUB MEETING

SUCCESSFUL PAST SEASON The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held in the hall, the president (Mr G. Matheson) presiding over 15 members. The eleventh annual report stated that the sum of £l2 3/11 was received from the efforts of the Sports Club formed last year, the club making good use of the funds by having the pavilion painted and a serviceable locker built in, that leaving plenty of room for nets and materials. There was a substantial balance ‘available for the incoming committee. The courts and grounds had been kept in first class order. That event covered the whole of the South Island and Miss Henderson’s achievement spoke well for the club. A public presentation was made to Mr and Mrs J. Ewart who left the district.
