COUSIN BETTY’S LETTER
My dear Cousins, o Spring is here at last, and I hope you have many inspirations for our Spring Page next week. Perhaps when the Fairy in charge of this season sees how much we really appreciate her, she will come to stay, and will bring her friend Mr Sun. Will you remember to write the letters after your name each time you send an entry? You will notice many on the Page this week, and will see how they are placed. If you have fifty marks you are A.C., if you have one hundred you may write V.A.C., and one hundred and fifty marks you write M.A.C. Those who have 750 Mind Sharpener marks have M.M.S., and the winners of Celebrity prizes have C.F. Please do not forget your degrees. The next event to which Little Southlanders look forward is Hospital Day, so I want you to save all the toys you do not use, and all the books you do not need, to give to the hospital children. Can you make toys or useful articles? I know many of you are very clever with your needles and will be able to make lots of little things for people of all ages. Father Christmas will be very busy at the end of the term, but he may be able to spare a few minutes to come along too. Have you any pennies to spare for the Birthday Fund? Remember the sick children on your next birthday. Now that school has begun once more, visiting days will be Tuesday for girls, and Wednesday for boys. I hope to see many new cousins this term, in addition to all those who climbed Sally to come and visit me last term. Begin your drawings for the competition now ! I should like them to be in as early as possible. Your loving
