Morton Mains

OBITUARY The death has occurred of Mr E. A. McGowan. He was bom at Horrelville, North Canterbury, later removing to Nelson with his parents. He served with, the New Zealand Forces in South Africa in the Boer War, and on his return took up land in Collingwood. In 1902 he married Miss Waiting, of Horrelville, who died 10 years ago. Twenty-six years ago Mr McGowan sold out in Collingwood and purchased a farm in Morton Mains from Mr A. Evans. For several years he served as a director of the dairy factory. Five years ago he remarried and his wife survives him, as well as a family of two sons and three daughters.
