CHANGING AUSTRALIA’S CONSTITUTION

REFERENDUM TO BE TAKEN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, September 10. The Canberra correspondent of The Sydney Morning Herald says an announcement that proposals for an amendment of the Constitution will be submitted to Parliament and later to a referendum of the people will be made by the Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) within the next few days. It is expected that the referendum will be held early in the new year.
