FRICTION AMONG UNIONS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.45 p.m.) Washington, August 5. The Council of the American Federation of Labour to-day ordered the suspension within 30 days of the unions headed by Mr Lewis, president of the Mine Union, and having a membership of 1,000,000, unless they dissolved the so-called Committee of Industrial Organization, which was formed to further industrial as against craft unionization within the federation. The council declared that it could not tolerate the existence of a rival organization. The dispute threatens the disruption of the federation.
