SUCCESSFUL CLUB TOURNAMENT
The Tuatapere Basketball Club held a successful knock-out tournament in Lawson’s Hall. Twenty-one teams entered. Orepuki was successful in the A grade section and Orepuki in the B grade section. Following are the results:— Seniors.—First round: Tuatapere 3 v. Pahia 2; Orepuki 6 v. Nightcaps 2; Western Star 4 v. Te Tua 0. Semifinal: Orepuki 6 v. Pukemaori 3; Tuatapere 4 v. Western Star 0. Final: Orepuki 7 v. Tuatapere 4. Consolation: Nightcaps 4 v. Pahia 2. Juniors: —First round: Orepuki 5 v. Te Tua 1; Pukemaori 2 v. Tuatapere 1. Semi-final: Orepuki 7 v. Otahu 3. Final: Orepuki 5 v. Pukemaori 1. Men’s Section. —First round: Dinky Doos 5 v. Otahu 0; Te Tua 3 v. Pahia 0; Orawia 1 v. Pukemaori 0; Morals 3 v. Nightcaps 0. Final: Dinky Doo sv. Orawia 0. The referees were Messrs S. Miles, E. King, J. Forde and S. Baker.
