WATCH ON DANZIG

BRITISH PRESS DOUBTS SECURITY. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, July 21. The newspapers are unfavourably impressed by the nature of the socalled security measures adopted by the Danzig Government and are closely watching the situation. Mr Sean Lester, the High Commissioner, has so far not reported to Geneva but is generally expected to do so. The League at its last meeting appointed a committee of three—Britain, France and Portugal—to watch developments in Danzig, and the British Foreign Secretary (Mr R. A. Eden) the League rapporteur on Danzig, is chairman of this committee as well.

The British representatives in Warsaw and Danzig are reporting to London on the present position.
