RUGBY FOOTBALL Recently a football match was played on Mr M. Crowe’s paddock, when a team representing Doherty’s Lime Co. defeated a Turi team by 12 points to 6. The game was more notable for humorous incident than brilliant play. Tries for Doherty’s were scored by G. Stewart (2), O. Cairns and S. Payne, and for Turi by I. Poole and A. Murphy. Mr W. Moylan was referee. A return match will be played at a later date. EUCHRE

At the final euchre party conducted by the Limehills Women’s Institute, the prize-winners were: Women, Mrs M. Crowe 1, Miss E. Hazlett 2; men, A. Bromley 1, R. Boyd 2. Aggregate prizes were won by Mrs R. Boyd and Mr H. Carter. A dance followed, music being supplied by Miss N. Crowe and Mr C. Watson.
