OLYMPIC GAMES
Nazi Propaganda
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.30 a.m.) Berlin, May 21. The Nazi Propaganda Department is intensifying its plans to ensure that visitors to the Olympic Games will receive a favourable impression of Germany. Simultaneously, it is doing its utmost to counter foreign opposition to participation in the Games, from which Germany hopes to obtain £7,000,000 worth of foreign currency. Dr Diem, secretary of the German Olympic Committee, told French journalists of the efforts he was making to induce a more favourable attitude in Sweden, where the Crown Prince has told the German Government that unless permission to return to Germany is given to certain Swedish business men who were recently expelled as reprisal for the expulsion of Nazi agents in Sweden, he will use his influence against Swedish participation in the Games.
