MR POLSON AND THE GOVERNMENT.
To the Editor. Sir,—In this morning’s issue of The Southland Times appeared in big headlines, “Warning Note,” “New Legislation,” “Mr Polson’s Complaint.” I read this very carefully, and in, my opinion his complaint, or shall we call it lament, is mere twaddle and political propaganda. Mr Polson has certainly lost any vestige of independence that he may have had, and is merely a fag for the Opposition and the dealers in debt. In concluding his complaints, Mr Polson announced “he was going to give up the office of Dominion President of the Union, as he wanted unrestricted liberty to fight the Government’s socialistic Legislation. However, he would continue working as ever in the interests of the farmers.” Now if this means anything, it means that the union does not see eye to eye, with Mr Polson in the Government’s legislation. If this is true, then it is high time Mr Polson resigned from the union.—Yours, etc., PHOENIX. Tuatapere, May 18, 1936.
