CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

GORE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Gore Chamber of Commerce was held last evening, when there were present Messrs H. H. Doughty (president), James Hunter, O. J. Howells, R S. Green, G. Smith, C. R. Wilkinson, A B. Caverhill, W. Scobie, W. B. Johnston. R. Fisher, R. A. Wallis, E. Watt, Dr. J. J. Gresham and the secretary (Mr A. H. Aitken). The secretary of the Canterbury Chamber wrote requesting co-operation and assistance in the direction of urging the Government immediately to institute an air mail service through the trunk air service recently brought into operation. It was decided to support the Canterbury Chamber and to take up with the Gore branch of the Southland Aero Club the question of having Gore included in the itinerary of the South Island air service.

In acknowledging the thanks of the chamber for his recent visit to Gore and address to the quarterly luncheon. Mr J. H. Reed, of Invercargill, stated that he had brought before his chamber a project for an interchange of visits between Invercargill and Gore and it would be brought up again after the holidays.
