Appointment Announced
HEADMISTRESS FOR CRAIGHEAD. The appointment is announced of Mrs M. C. Tolley, first assistant of St. Margaret’s College, Christchurch, to the position of headmistress of Craighead School, Timaru, for the year 1936, states the Christchurch Star-Sun. Arrangements have been made for Mrs Tolley to be granted leave of absence from St. Margaret’s College for next year so that she may accept the position. In the meantime, applications for the permanent position at Craighead will be called for both abroad and in New Zealand. From February 1, 1936, the school will be controlled by the newly elected Board of Governors of Craighead School, and steps are now being taken by the Diocesan Board of Education to hand over its present charge to the new body. Mrs Tolley was educated at the Convent High School, Rock Ferry, Liverpool, and is an honours graduate of London University. She has had wide teaching experience in England, India and New Zealand, and since 1923 has been on the staff of St. Margaret’s College, Christchurch, during which period she has at times acted as headmistress.
