INCREASE IN WAGES
AUSTRALIAN SEAMEN.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) .(Rec. 8.15 p.m.) Melbourne, Nov. 8. Seamen and many other employees in the shipping industry will receive increases in pay under awards delivered by the. Federal Arbitration Court today. Able seamen will receive from £l3 2/6 a month to £l4 7/6. The overtime rate, however, is reduced from 2/9 to 2/6 an hour. Firemen’s and greasers’ wages are increased by 25/- to £l6 17/6 and trimmers’ wages by 25/- to £l4 7/6.
