Another big yarding, although not as big as last week’s, in the fat cattle section, a drop in fat sheep values, and the biggest yarding of store sheep for years and consequent easing in prices were the features of the Lorneville stock sale yesterday. The quality of the fat cattle was good, although perhaps not as consistent as it was last week, and there was little if any change in values. Fat sheep eased by about 1/- to 1/6 a head all round. Yesterday’s yardings and those of last week were as follows: —

Yesterday’s yarding included 35 daily cows, 6 bulls and 40 fat lambs. Store Sheep. The much bigger entry comprised mostly ewes and lambs. The best price for wethers went to Mr D. Teviotdale, of Isla Bank, who got 32/9 for a line. Mr J. Mollison (Isla Bank) obtained 31/3 for some of his ewes, Mr Teviotdale being next with 28/-. There were some good quality lambs entered. The best price, 28/6, was obtained by Mr J. Robertson, of Waikiwi, for two of a line of’ 12. Mr R.
