AUSTRALIANS IN INDIA. FIRST MATCH BEGUN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) Rajkot, November 5. Mr Frank Tarrant’s team of Australian cricketers began the first match of their Indian tour to-day against West of India States at Rajkot. The weather was bright and pleasant and 5000 spectators were present, including a number of ruling Princes of Western India and their families. West of India catted first and made 154 (Gurtu 25, Faizahmad 25, Narsingrao 22). Five wickets fell for 28 after lunch. Oxenham took five for 40 and Mair four for 63. At the tea adjournment the Australians had scored 30 for no wickets (Wendel Bill 18, Hendry 12).
