DIPLOMACY OVER
ABYSSINIAN DELEGATE HAWARIAT READY TO , FIGHT SAVINGS HANDED IN (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.50 pan.) London, November 4. The Addis Ababa correspondent of The Times says that General Tekla Hawariat addressed the Emperor and notables for two hours. He described the European situation and the work of the Abyssinian delegation at Geneva, lauding the British policy. The Emperor paid the keenest attention. General Hawariat then took from his pocket several thousand franc notes and handed them to the Imperial Treasurer, saying: “Here are all my savings since I began work in Paris. They are but the beginning of what I will give my country. Why keep money and lose our independence?” Turning to the notables he urged them to do the same, exclaiming: “My diplomacy is over: now I must fight. This money will buy arms.” He concluded with detailed advice on guerilla warfare, emphasizing that the Fabian policy of warfare was vital to Abyssinia in order to prolong the campaign until the next rains, when a mass attack would be possible.
