Wedding

McALISTER—ROSS. A pretty but quiet wedding was solemnized on Wednesday, October 23, in St. Martin’s Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, when Mary, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. McAlister, of Lumsden, was married to William, second son of the late Mr and Mrs Ross, of Methven. The Rev. Mr Morrison performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a pink and beige tunic frock with a pink hat, and shoes, stockings and gloves to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, lilies of the valley and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her niece (Miss Lorraine McAlister, of Invercargill) as bridesmaid. She wore a floral tunic frock with hat and accessories to tone. She carried a bouquet of abutilons and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Thomas Ross, Methven, as best man. ' Mrs Gallagher officiated at the organ. After the wedding, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s brother, Albert Terrace, St. Martin’s, where the guests were received by Mrs McMr and Mrs Ross left by car for the north, where the honeymoon will be spent. Their future home will be at Oxford.
