UNOCCUPIED HOUSE

MYSTERIOUS FIRE. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, August 19. An element of jnystery surrounds the circumstances of a fire which badly damaged an unoccupied twelve-roomed house in Owen street, Newtown, last night. It was the third occasion within as many months that a fire had occurred in the house. Both the previous fires, which were put out without much damage being done, broke out on a Sunday. It is thought the fire may have been caused by thieves or tramps, who occupied the house for shelter.
