VALUELESS CHEQUES

OFFENDER SENT TO PRISON.

PREVIOUS CONVICTIONS. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, August 13. Douglas Arthur Fletcher Brewer pleaded guilty to two charges of issuing valueless cheques and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. The police stated that he was an old offender. A local bank would not allow him to open an account, so he got a man to open one for him under the name of Stevens.
