FORCED ENTRY

COUNCIL OFFICES. MONEY STOLEN. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington. August 9. Thieve:? broke into the offices of the Upper Hutt Borough Council during the night and, with the use of gelignite, broke open the strongroom, taking £37 in money. A nearby resident believes that he heard an explosion about 12.30 a.m. An entry was made by forcing the rear window.

The money was to have been used for the payment of relief workers.
