PARTY’S VISIT TO GERMANY.
CONTROVERSY EXPLAINED.

The controversy which has arisen because members'of the British Legion had not placed a wreath on the Nazi memorial as expected has been explained. The ceremony was announced before members of the Legion were consulted. Mr Featherston Godley took the view that as the sole object was to make contact with German exservicemen they could not participate in a political demonstration.
