third reading carried.
(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) London, June 5.
The House of Commons read a third time the India Bill. A Labour amendment for its rejection on the ground that it did not go far enough in the direction of giving Dominion status was defeated by 386 votes to 122. The Bill was the biggest ever known in the British Parliament. Originally it contained 451 clauses and 15 schedules. It left the House of Commons to-night with 473 clauses and 16 schedules. Commenting on the passage of the Jndia Bill through the House of Commons The Times says that not a measure in the history of the British Parliament has undergone a more careful preparation and examination. The Government can be congratulated upon its readiness to accept all reasonable amendments and the House of Comjnons may well be proud of its achievement. ,
