CLERK ADMITTED TO PROBATION.

Wanganui, February 14. Norman Leslie Tyler, a clerk, found guilty yesterday of the theft of £l5 4/-, the property of the Waitotara County Council, while he was clerk in charge of the Unemployment Relief Department, was admitted to probation for three years by Mr Justice Blair and was ordered to pay the £l5 4/-. The Judge said that he took into consideration the recommendation of the jury that the money had not been appropriated for Tyler's own use, but to ipake up shortages in the cash.
