EIGHT ARRESTS
RAIDS ON HOTELS. BOOKMAKING ALLEGED. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, January 28. A simultaneous raid by detectives on Saturday afternoon upon four hotels resulted in eight arrests under the Gaming Act. This morning various charges were preferred, the hearing being adjourned for a week. Among those taken in charge were the licensee, his wife and the barman of a suburban hotel, the other five being made in three city hotels. Four of the men were barmen, and it is alleged against them that they permitted the premises to be used as a common gaming house, while it is alleged against a fifth man that he was carrying on the busmess of a bookmaker in the bar,
