PLAY AT MELBOURNE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright). (Rec. 11.40 p.m.) Melbourne, Jan. 28. At the croquet tournament, the semifinals of the singles championships resulted: W. T. McCleery (Australia) defeated Ward Petley (England); H. R. Poulter (England) defeated W. Du Pre (England). The final and grand final will be played to-morrow. The teams for the first test beginning on Friday are:—

England: Du Pre, Poulter, Petley, Sir Francis Wemyss. Australia: C. J. Miller, J. C. Windsor, McCleery, E. M. Hunt, New Zealand: Stratton, Mrs Caldow, Mrs Corbett, Mrs Hartnell.
