Women In Sweden

In which country in the world do women enjoy the greatest privileges? Several different answers might be given to this question, and it is interesting to learn that Swedish women are tremendously advanced and the Swedish marriage law is the best in the world, states an exchange. A Swedish woman enjoys complete partnership with her husband in the eyes of the law. Her work in the home is recognized as of equal importance to the family with .the work of her husband by earning money to keep the home. He cannot sell the house or anything else without his wife’s consent.

Another significant fact is that Swedish women are about the best housewives in Europe. The Women’s Training College for the Administrative Staffs of Institutions, which is an experiment in training women to become directors, managers, and cooks of institutions, hospitals and children’s homes, is proving a great success. It was started by a woman who was an inspector of hospitals during the war. She formed the opinion that dietetics should be studied scientifically by persons in positions of authority in institutions, so at this college women are taught the correct dietary for people of all ages from infants to centenarians, leading every kind of life from the sedentary to the very active; and also the science of dietetics in the treatment of different diseases.
