Mrs G. Smeaton and her daughter, Margaret, are spending the holidays with Mr and Mrs W. R. Stirling, “Marrion Terrace,” Wyndham. Misses Hilda and Marjorie Baird left Wyndham on Saturday to spend the holidays at Stewart Island. Mr and Mrs Ferguson and family, South Wyndham, are the guests of Mrs Renowden, Otautau. Mr T. McKerrow is spending the holidays with his parents, Mr and Mrs A. McKerrow, Wyndham. Misses Joan, Peggy and Betty Porter are holidaying with their mother and relatives, Balaclava street, Wyndham. Miss Gwyn Smeaton, Mosgiel, is spending the Christmas vacation with Mr and Mrs W. R. Stirling, Wyndham. Mr and Mrs G. R. Wilkinson, Wyndham, left during the week-end by car on three weeks’ holiday.

Miss M. Fox, Dunedin, is at present staying with Mrs T. Hunter, Glenham. Miss D. Thornley, Invercargill, is the guest of Mrs A. Henderson, Glenham. Miss M. Irwin, Limehills, is spending the vacation as the guest of Mr R. Irwin, Glenham. Mrs G. J. C. Smart and her two sons, Oliver and Randolph, left Wyndham on Thursday with Hunterville, North Island, as their destination. Mrs R. Pauli and her daughter, Audrey, left during the week on a week’s holiday to Mrs Valentine, Pukerau. Miss M. Cooper, Glenham, is spending her school vacation with her parents at Gore. , „

Falconer and her daughter Patricia left on Thursday for Wellington. Mr and Mrs D. Hunter, Alma street, are spending a few days at Waipahi. Miss P. and Master Bruce Jones, Dunedin, are the guests of Miss B. McLauchlan, Wyndham. Mr and Mrs C. E. Davey and Mr Alan Davey left yesterday for their annual holiday, on a motor and camping tour. Mr and Mrs Cross are visiting their Wyndham relatives, Mr and Mrs H. E. Stevens, Redan street. Mr and Mrs J. Chaplin and family are visiting Mrs Ramage, Ferry street. Mrs Barnett, Dunedin, is spending the Christmas vacation with Mr and Mrs A. A. Wilson, sen., Ferry street, Dunedin. Mr Evans, Dunedin, is spending the vacation with Mr and Mrs A. Wilson, sen., Wyndham. Edcndalc School. The annual break-up ceremony and prize distribution of the Edendale School was held under ideal weather conditions on Wednesday, December 19. After he had distributed prizes Major Rice gave a short address to the children and parents present. The chairman of the school committee, in his closing _ remarks, thanked all parents and visitors for their attendance, the staff for their work and results obtained during the year; donors of special prizes; to the Sport Society for their financial assistance in providing prizes for races; to the society,s secretary, Mr R. A. Marshall, for his assistance with events; and Mrs George Dickson for providing hot water and milk for afternoon tea. Glenham School Break-Up. The break-up ceremony of the Glenham School was held on Wednesday, December 19 under ideal weather conditions. Mr E. The annual break-up ceremony and prize distribution took place on Wednesday afternoon when a most enjoyable programme of children’s sports was ’put through. Every child received a book of equal value, and it reflects much credit on parents who gave so liberally to the prize fund and the committee wishes to thank all who m any way helped to make the function, such a success.
