ESPIONAGE SYSTEM

RUMOURS IN SINGAPORE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) Singapore, Dec. 7. Sensational developments followed the death of a prominent Singapore Japanese merchant, Y. Nishimura, in the office of a special branch of detectives two days ago. The police, who are reticent, questioned many prominent members of the Japanese Association. Two were detained and will possibly be banished. The police also seized many documents.

Rumours current suggest that a gigantic espionage system is associated with the visit of two Japanese who left earlier in the week and regarding whom the police were questioning Nishimura when his death occurred.
