FOUND DEAD

REV. CHARLES ASKEW. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 1.45 a.m.) London, December 6. The Rev. Charles Askew was found dead on the railway at Beaconsfield. He was Dean of Nelson, New Zealand, from 1923 till 1933. The Rev. Charles Frederick Askew, was born at Furness Abbey, England, and educated at Hawkshead Grammar School, Peterhouse and Cambridge graduating M.A. From 1900 to 1906 he was curate of Laisterdyke, Yorks, and from 1906 to 1911 he was vicar of Ingrow, Yorks. He came to New Zealand in 1911, and was vicar of St. Mark’s (Wellington) until 1923, when he became vicar of Christ Church (Nelson), and later Dean of Nelson.
