LUNCHEON AT SHOWGROUNDS. “VALEDICTORY SPEECH.” (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, November 9. “I suppose I can call this a valedictory speech,” said the Governor-Gen'' eral, Lord Bledisloe, referring to his impending departure from the Dominion during a speech at a luncheon at the Showgrounds to-day. “I-must say it is with some sadness that _my wife and I are shortly about to flit to our ancestral haunts in the Old Land, but, speaking without exaggeration, we shall leave behind us no small part of our hearts and sympathies. None will learn of your returning prosperity with more genuine joy.”
