NEW ZEALANDERS DEFEATED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 1 a.m.) Melbourne, November 9. The polo matches were played in unfavourable conditions. The Duke of Gloucester, however, witnessed some very exciting games. Results: — New South Wales 18 defeated South Australia Al. Queensland 9 defeated New Zealand 3. R. M. D. Johnson (New Zealand) strained a riding muscle and did not continue. South Australia B 21 defeated Victoria B 18.
