ANGLING.

The Wyndham Anglers’ Club held their third competition of the season on Wednesday, the conditions being any river, and any legal bait. The rivers were in fair order, with the result that six fishermen weighed in 86 fish weighing 831 b 14oz. The weigh-in was supervised by Messrs G. J. C. Smart and C. C. Werry. A guessing competition held in connection with the weigh-in was won by Mr A. G. Bain.
The results were as follows:— G. Bogue, 21 fish 17|lb, scr, 17Jlb 1 H. Heath, 11 fish 151 b 14oz, scr, 151 b 14oz 2 G. Johnstone, 18 fish 171 b Boz, less 10 per cent., 151 b 12oz 3 A. Bell, 15 fish 121 b 13oz, scr, 121 b 13oz 4 J. Robertson, 10 fish 101 b 12oz, scr, 101 b 12oz .5 A. Gregory, 11 fish 81b, 5 per cent, off, 71b lOoz 6 Bowls.
The first fixture match of the season was played on the local green on Wednesday evening, when Wyndham. met and defeated Edendale by a margin of 11 points. The green was in good playing order, with weather conditions ideal. The scores were as follows:—
