DUKE OF GLOUCESTER

TOUR OF DANDENONG RANGES. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) Melbourne, Nov. 8. The Duke of Gloucester spent this morning on a motor tour of the Dandenong ranges, picturesque hill country close to Melbourne. Though it was intended as a. quiet morning free from the pomp and circumstance of official formalities, the Duke was unable to escape the desire of the hill residents to honour him. The journey soon invested itself with all the clamour of an official Royal tour. At one stage a party of roadmakers mounted a gaily decorated lorry and enthusiastically waved flags and cheered the passing Royal car. The Duke suitably acknowledged the greetings.
