Health in the Home
(By a Family Doctor.) A lady of 60 told me that she suffered badly from nerves. She felt so bad at times that she feared she ‘ would suddenly go off her head.” Now when she made that remark I felt more hopeful about the condition. People who recognize their danger are always willing to try their utmost to avert that danger. „ In nervous conditions, above a±i others, the co-operation of the patient is of primary importance. This lady was willing to do everything I recom-
mended so that she should be restored to normal. Her husband’s illness had worried her a great deal. Now that he had recovered she had one anxiety the less, on her mind. She went for long drives every day with a young cheerful companion. At home when the household duties were finished she visited friends and no longer stayed indoors worrying over trivial things.. A mild sedative was necessary occasionally to help her to sleep at night.
