The New Zealand athletes for the Empire Games arrived fit and were met at Liverpool street station by Sir James Leigh-Wood, chairman of the British Games committee, and Dr. Arthur Porritt, who arranged for immediate training in St. Mary’s Hospital ground. He is discouraging entertaining except for a visit to Wembley on Thursday and a week-end at Oxford to meet J. E. Lovelock. The team is quietly quartered at the Tudor Hotel, Lancaster Gate.
