WOODLANDS NOTES
LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB. (From Our Correspondent.) At the fortnightly meeting of the Literary and Debating Club last evening a play, “The Late Christopher Bean,” was read. The cast was as follows: Dr. Haggett, Mr C. S. Bigwood; Susan Haggett, Miss E. Barraclough; Gwenny, Mrs Renwick; Mrs Haggett, Miss Kane; Ada Haggett, Miss Renwick; Bruce Mcßae, Mr W. Barraclough; Zallant, Mr Hargest; Rosen, Mr S. G. August; Davenport, Mr Griffen; chorus, Mrs Middlemiss. It was a lengthy play, but was thoroughly enjoyed by, all present as it retained its interest right through. The next meeting, takes the form of a prepared debate with a team from the Farmers’ Union.
