WAIMATUKU NOTES

SOCIAL AND DANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) On Friday evening the hall was full to its utmost capacity when Mr and Mrs D. Scott entertained their friends to a social and dance on their return from their honeymoon. Cards and dancing were enjoyed by those present, music for the dancing being supplied by Mrs Toole and Mr McDonald. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss B. Strang and Mr H. Anderson, both of whom were handed a gift by the bride. At a suitable interval, Mr G. Galt, on behalf of those present, said a few words of welcome to Mr and Mrs Scott and asked them to accept a sum of money with the best wishes of the donors. Mr Scott suitably replied. Personal. Mr W. Blakie, of Invercargill, is relieving at the local school. Mr L. Strang, has returned from his holiday spent in the north. Mr E. Hogg spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs W. Trotter.
