GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) London, June 27. Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary for Air, announced in the House of Commons that the Government was prepared to make grants not exceeding £5OOO a year for five years towards the formation and maintenance of a central gliding school coupled with a capitation grant to approved clubs. It was hoped that generous additional support would be forthcoming from private sources.
