INADEQUATE PENALTY FOR THE CONVERSION OF MOTOR , VEHICLES. i To the Editor. Sir, —This class of crime continues unchecked. To all our requests for more appropriate penalties the Government has turned a .deaf ear. The motorists of New Zealand have again and again, and yet again urged the Government to take a serious view of the problem, without result; notwithstanding the fact that the Press in the Dominion has also raised its voice against the futility of the existing law. May I, on behalf of the motorists of the South Island, ask you to again help us in drawing public attention to the position.—l am, etc., F. H. W. MARSTON, President, South Island Motor Union. Christchurch, June 26, 1934.
