CHILD CAUGHT IN PULLEY. (Per United Press Association.) », Wellington, April 11. Doreen Snow, aged five, of Riddiford street, wandered into a factory this morning, and was caught in a pulley shaft and severely hurt. She is in hospital in a serious condition. Her condittion, though fairly serious, showed a slight improvement to-night. YOUNG MAN’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Tirnaru, April 11. A fatal accident occurred on the main highway between Timaru and Fairlie to-night in the vicinity of the Pleasant Point domain. The victim was James Douglas Home, aged 22, a single man. Home, accompanied by Angus McArthur, had been to the fishing huts at Butler’s Crossing, where the Home family have a hut. The pair had been in Pleasant Point for milk, and were returning to the huts in the vehicle, which was a light delivery van. When passing the gates of the Pleasant Point domain, the van, which was driven by McArthur, overturned in loose shingle. Home was pinned underneath and was dead when he was extricated.
